Get Dark Tanning
Back in the 70′s and 80′s having a dark tan was synonymous with looking healthy. Most people that grew up in those decades used baby oil to get more sun when laying out or going to the beach. Tanning lotions or tan lotion were only used to make your tan get darker rather than having sunscreen in it to prevent the suns rays. Many of those former sun worshipers are paying the price now with weathered looking skin and wrinkles or skin cancer diagnosis. Today’s youth still like that sun kissed look but are now choosing to get it in a much healthier way.
The deep dark tan is now considered not attractive but a nice sun kissed glow is still more popular than being pale white, especially in the warmer summer months. The youth of today have been brought up with a greater understanding of the damage sun can do and have typically worn sunscreen since they were babies. Two to three decades ago, the highest number sun protection they offered for your body was a SPF 4 and a product called Noskote that came in a small jar and was the number of an 8 to put on your nose to avoid it from getting burned. Today, those numbers are hardly seen for sale and most people put on at least a SPF of 15 when they go out in the sun. It is not uncommon for people to lather on a SPF of 70 to avoid sun damage and getting burned.
Because so many people are using strong sunscreen as well as wearing hats, glasses and even sun protective clothing these days, how do they get a bronzed glow on their skin? There are several different tanning lotion products that create a tanned look on your skin depending on what method you would like to use.
The first type of tanning lotion are a couple of professionally applied versions where you must go to a special tanning salon to get it. You can get a spray tan in a booth and walk out looking like you have been in the sun all week long. Many of the chains that have this type are called Mystic tan but there are other brands that do the same thing. Some people complain that it can dry streaky and the smell is a bit unpleasant. For those that want the same idea without the negative side effects, they pay to have a tan professionally airbrushed on them. This is what a lot of celebrities and actors do to get the nice tan look.
Another way to get a tan is to do it yourself with self tanning lotion. There are some products that go on and immediately make your skin look darker but can also make a mess and get on your clothing if you are not careful. The more popular kind is the type that goes on and takes several days to take effect and work and the tan gradually builds as you apply it daily.
