How we wish, like in a dream, there was magic that would erase in a wink of an eye our skin problems away! Real life, however, does not work that way. We need to work hard to attain our goals, including the one about our having a young-looking skin.
Getting ourselves serious in the effort to work on the following what-to-do anti-aging skin care tips may not guarantee us the impeccable look of skin we desire. But they offer us chances of having one. More than that, these simple and not-so-novel procedures can be our way to better health.
1. Eat healthy. A healthy diet is very important to maintain the ideal pace of body metabolism. Vegetables and fruits are rich sources of fiber and should be on top of the menu. Avoid fatty and oily foods. They do not only lack the essential nutrients our bodies need, they can likewise promote obesity and various disorders that hasten aging.
2. Beat stress! Peace of mind reflects on our external countenance. Avoid tension. Sleep, exercise, a relaxing bath, and aroma therapy are proven ways of controlling stress. Too much stress disrupts normal body metabolism; it speeds up our aging process.
3. Guzzle up! Water is a universal solvent. It helps flush out body toxins. It keeps the body clean and makes it less vulnerable to infections and viral attacks. Most doctors recommend drinking at least 6 to 8 glasses of water every day.
4. Exercise regularly. As an anti-aging skin care procedure, regular exercise tones the muscles and helps eliminate skin toxins through perspiration. Just be sure to follow this up with a warm shower to flush away the emitted toxins.
5. Go natural. Whenever possible, choose organic or natural skin care products over synthetic or chemical-based skin care products. Prolonged use of chemical products can be harmful to your skin.
6. Moderate their use. No matter how well they are working, we should not use skin care products excessively. Again, overuse or excessive and harsh applciation can cause undue harm to your skin.
7. Treat disorders. Pay attention to skin disorders lest they lead to permanently damaged skin. Consult a dermatologist whenever over the counter drugs fail to bring out the result you expected.
8. Store properly. Some anti-aging skin care products have active ingredients that oxidise very quickly. We need proper storage for them. Take note of their expiration dates. Using expired products can potentially do more harm than good. Preparations containing Vitamin C, for instance, oxidise too quickly. When they turn yellowish brown, they are no longer advisable for use.
9. Use sunscreen. Ultraviolet rays speed up the skin’s aging process. Whenever we need to stay outdoors, sunscreen with at least SPF 15 should be used, always. Better safe than be vulnerable.
True all these may seem hardwork, but everything becomes easy once we have established the habit. Working on them enhances our having not only a young and fresh-looking skin but also a healthy body and lifestyle.
