tendon on hip/psoas muscle?

Help me out if you can- I have these freaky lumps on the front of my hips. I thought I might have pulled a groin or adductor muscle, but my massage therapist says it’s my psoas. Two weeks of active release, ice, and moderate rest has not helped. (It is hard to apply ice regularly though, considering where the tendon is). I can still feel the tendon almost popping out of my skin, it is so tight. I can even feel it through clothes. The tendon runs laterally across the front of my body. It is not painful, however. I’m pretty sure it’s caused by years of weightlifting/running without any massage/chiropractic care, combined with one leg being singificantly shorter and throwing off my hip alignment. Has anyone had this? What did you do to treat these? I bought this pack of massages when I had a better job and insurance, so I can’t afford a PT now.

The psoas runs vertically, not laterally, from about the level of your navel to the top of each inner thigh. If you feel something sticking out that runs laterally across the front of both hips, it sounds like a double inguinal or femoral hernia. Try to find a free clinic or community health center and try to get someone to take a look at it.
