Skin Care Toner Benefits
Question for skin experts.?
I have a few questions about skin care, acne, etc. Please don’t answer if you have no knowledge behind your statements!
1. I recently started using Booth’s Tea Tree Therapeutic Toner & I’m unsure whether or not to stick to this regime. I know the benefits of tea tree oil, but this toner contains alcohol, which I heard to stay away from with toners. What should I do?
2. Will using an exfoliating scrub daily do any damage to my skin? Should I limit my usage to 1-2x a week?
3. My mom said the sun will dry out my acne, but a dermatologist told me to stay away from the sun. Is that true? & if so, what’s the harm?
4. Will Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula cream heal/vanish the spots after a pimple is popped?
If it helps, I have combination skin. I can’t find a balance between oily & dry skin, everyday is something different. & my acne isn’t severe, but it is problematic. I think, however, I have more post-acne scars than actual zits.

Over time, alcohol can dry up your skin. Some say that it causes wrinkles over time too. I suggest you only use this toner only once or twice a week after you give yourself a facial by steaming your face and applying a clay mask. Toners with alcohol also have temporary effects. It will give your pores a clean fresh look but over time, like I said, they dry up your skin, and can cause parches and wrinkles.
2. Will using an exfoliating scrub daily do any damage to my skin? Should I limit my usage to 1-2x a week?

Exfoliating everyday won’t do your skin much good. You should limit your exfoliation to every other day or twice a week, depending on your environment (weather-wise) and your skin type. Also, exfoliating your skin, will make your skin resist it, so over time you will see that exfoliating it doesn’t effect it anymore, which isn’t good because its either the two extremes, scarring your face with harsh scrubs or allowing the dirt and grime to accumulate. So exfoliating only a few times a week is the safest method to keeping your skin looking and feeling clean and fresh.
3. My mom said the sun will dry out my acne, but a dermatologist told me to stay away from the sun. Is that true? & if so, what’s the harm?

Too much sun can actually cause hyper pigmentation, which means that your pimples will start to leave dark spots behind. Use sunscreen and avoid the sun when you can.
The sun might dry up your acne, but it will dry up the rest of your skin also which is no good. You can also suffer sunburns and like I said, dark spots that are hard to remove later.
4. Will Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula cream heal/vanish the spots after a pimple is popped?
No, it won’t. But using moisturizers and keeping your skin lively, rejuvenated, and clean can help your skin to speed up the healing process. So keep moisturizing. Its easier for a spot to heal with hydrated skin then dry skin. So drink lots of water and don’t neglect your daily moisturizing regime.
Its probably the only process in skin-care that you should never neglect and do every single day.
