Why are beaches and water around the equator so much more attractive than other cooler places?
Blue green clear waters … sand like powdered sugar, beautifully colored marine life.
Cold dark waters… slimy dark fish, sea weed, beaches with skipping stones on them , not pleasant .
IS it the heat, the sun, what is it that makes warm climate beaches better than beaches found in say England, or Pacific Northwest ?
Whether I go in the dead of summer or during winter they are still the same though . I wanted to know what caused the different characteristics of the beaches .
The color of beach sand and partly the color of the water is determined by the mineral composition of the sand on the beach. White tropical beaches consist dominantly of bits of calcium carbonate fragments derived mainly from corals. Since coral reefs only grow in tropical climates, there’s your answer!
