Best way to care for skin on my neck? Male, 40.?

I have? what I think is good skin. My face is blemish free, even healthy looking. But, whenever I shave my neck, no matter how carefully, I get one to several red spots. If I shave quickly, I get a bunch of spots, and almost always, several nicks. What is the best shaving cream/razor/lotion combination I can use?

maybe you could try some sort of hair removal cream instead of shaving?
